Clean-Up Crew

I always knew that having pets was a big responsibility. I mean, you’d have to be stupid not to…but when we first got Scooter everyone kept telling me how having a dog was going to give me good mommie skills. I believed them, but now I REALLY believe them…

I was just sitting in the living room, minding my own business, watching Talking Dead when I heard this noise from the bedroom. The puppies had been playing for the last few minutes and normally, Scooter is the one making all the noise. That dog is just like me…he never shuts up…but this time I knew it was Ruthie and she sounded hurt.

I raced into the bedroom to find both dogs on the floor on the other side of the bed and a huge wet spot on the bed. Mind you, Blake is asleep in the bed…I thought Ruthie was bleeding so I immediately checked her all over but found nothing wrong. Even though we had just gone out to potty less than 30 minutes prior, my guess is Scooter either hurt her or scared her and she peed out of instinct.

If that wasn’t bad enough I had to literally roll Blake out of bed, rip off the wet comforter and sheets, put fresh sheets on the bed, get Blake back into bed and put all the dirty laundry in the wash.

Bring it on motherhood, bring it on.

Playtime at the Park!

Blake and I finally got Ruthie out to the dog park and she loved it!

I was so excited because Ruthie and Scooter would play with each other, with other dogs together and also with other dogs separately. I was afraid that Ruthie would be attached to Scooter the whole time and only go where he went, but she didn’t! They even ran though the water together! It also helped that it was a beautiful day and there were LOTS of other doggies there. This made me worried that we wouldn’t be able to keep track of two dogs at the same time. I know, I worry a lot. It’s kind of my thing. But in my defense, over half of the dogs that were there were little white dogs like ours.

Here are some of Ruthie’s best pictures. She’s not nearly as good as staying still and posing like Scooter is, but we’re working on it. Next week is Spring Break and I am SOOOO excited. We’re taking the puppies to the Texas Paw Party at Old Town Spring on Saturday and hopefully the weather will be nice so I can get them back out to the dog park some time during the week as well.
